Loss can be a heavy burden to carry, and often
times people do not get the space or support to cope with significant
losses, such as the death of a loved one, loss of health, loss of a
career or of a home (to name just a few examples). I have helped
many clients learn how to cope with losses so that they can reclaim
their lives while also honoring the importance of the losses in their
lives.
Art therapy is a constructive and positive way
of exploring an important loss while helping the client cope with
overwhelming feelings.
Art therapy can provide directives specifically aimed at guiding a person through a grieving process so that a client can feel they are able to cope with grief as well as find a meaning in their lives after a significant loss.
