I have extensive experience helping victims of traumatic experiences and abuse, child and adult alike. What may seem like something insurmountable can actually be overcome with dedication and support. I am continuously educating myself on how to help victims of trauma. My education includes Basic Training in EMDR with Laurel Parnell, PhD, a certificate in trauma studies from the International Trauma Studies Program through Columbia University, as well as a board certification from the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.
Art therapy is a supportive and safe way to help victims of trauma and abuse deal with the overwhelming physical and emotional experiences that sometimes leave them feeling helpless and alone.
Art therapy is a positive and creative
experience that can provide ways to cope with traumatic experiences
while discovering personal strengths and building self-esteem.
Art therapy can provide directives that are specifically geared to trauma survivors, guiding them through a process of recovery. With care and support, clients can regain control of their present instead of reliving the past.
